Chiropractic Adjustment also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation, is a common therapeutic treatment for lower back pain. A chiropractic adjustment refers to a chiropractor applying manipulation to the vertebrae that have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally. The objective of this chiropractic treatment is to reduce the subluxation, with the goals of increasing range of motion, reducing nerve irritability and improving function.
Chiropractic adjustments can be incredibly beneficial to patients. In some situations the adjustment can provide immediate relief of pain and tightness. Other times it may take a few adjustments to restore the proper function of the joints that need attention. Chiropractic Adjustments can drastically increase the range of motion of joints by removing the fixations within the joints that keep the body from moving optimally. Adjustments also reduce inflammation and edema with in a joint that is currently experiencing pain. Dr. Cruze performs effective adjustments specific to each patient and their joints.
"I have a chronic injury - after the birth of my second child, one of my hips "locked." When the hip is locked it gets in the way of my yoga practice. A relatively quick realignment gets me back in shape. I recently tried Dr. Nick because he is closer to my office than my previous chiropractor. Dr. Nick is AWESOME! He realigned my hips, and then he gave me an easy-to-do exercise (who knew planks were so useful?) that seems to be holding my hips in place. For the first time in 3 years, I can imagine not needing a monthly visit to the chiropractor. YAY! But if you have to see a chiropractor every month, Dr. Nick is your guy. He's just a delight, and passionate about his work." - Gypsy A.
